Civil service position assigned

Hi all I've completed all my tests and interviews for the civil service last week and last week I was also assigned a role with DETE. I was told someone from that department would be in touch soon with my start date etc. Would anyone know on average how long it is after you're assigned to a department do you start ? Thanks
