Hi all,

Looking for some advice re probate. We went sale agreed in October, probate had been cleared but during legal process it was found that the property hadn’t been signed from the husband (who had died years previously) to his wife (who passed recently) so papers were resubmitted in December.

From the probate website the office has started working on applications submitted after our date. Our solicitor hasn’t heard anything from the other side so we’re starting to worry that they’ve messed up the application and they’ll need to reapply thus delaying sale further.

we’ve spent two years looking and bidding on houses so we’re keen that this goes through asap.

My questions are

1 how long does it generally take for a decision from the private office to filter down

2 anyone have any idea/experience of resubmission times?

Feeling very deflated altogether!

It takes as long as it takes particularly if there was an issue. Impossible to give a time frame as each case is different.

I am in the exact same position. 2 probates to wait through - went sale agreed last July (so we are nearly a year since we've gone sale agreed) second probate was applied for in early Decemeber (now 23rd May and still no update!) have you had any luck? feels like nobody can tell you anything!
