Car insurance after driving ban

A family member got a two year driving ban and a one year suspended prison sentence for careless driving causing grievous bodily harm, I'm not in contact with this family member and out of curiosity I'm wondering how much his car insurance is going to cost him when he is back on the road, he is in his late 60s, I know nobody can give a exact price but has anyone got any experience with this and could give me some rough idea,

Maybe I'm way off but if I had to guess I would guess his first car insurance after the ban could be anything over two thousand euros but would not be surprised if over five thousand euro.

Could be anything really. Best bet is to contact a broker who handles non standard risks.

Person may drive uninsured but good gardai know this is common and will watch out for this after a ban. Some people wait 5+ years until they dont need to declare it or it has no impact.

From an insurers point of view it's a massive red flag. There are specialist brokers that help such people.

Cheapest may be an e bike or taxi or bus, or getting lifts from a partner or friend or combination for a couple of years
