Flights got changed & I need to book 1 extra night at the end of campsite holiday.

We will be flying early morning so was thinking Carcassonne itself/close to airport. Would anybody have a recommendation?

2adults +2 (7&9) & Airport transfer etc would be handy, will have had plenty of pools etc already so that's not a necessity

    Thanks a million

Ibis hotel downtown has some local or arranged bus service to the airport I “believe’

Yeah the Ibis Centre on Gambetta (as opposed to the ibis styles further east) is handy for the airport shuttle bus (google the timetable, it is sync'ed with departures) but there are a few stops around the city. Also handy for heading up to the fortress - I would recommend taking the inner castle tour. Restaurant le Saint Jean up there is good value, nice setting and decent rustic food. La Brasserie des Platanes down on the south side of the city centre was a bit pricier but very good. Avoid the central square restaurants both in the city centre and the fortress, complete tourist traps.

Edit: Actually, for four people, a taxi will likely be cheaper than the shuttle bus

Thanks for the these Ging & Xper, had a spin on the train around the walls last year, it really is a spectacular place.
