    Hi, new poster in peace.

Not sure if people are aware of this, but Llanelli Scarlets Back Row player Ben Williams is out of contract soon and is unlikely to stay at the West Wales club.

Ben qualifies for Ireland through his Grandmother (Kathy O'Brien) who was from the Lansdowne area of Dublin, but he has played for Wales U20s though not for the first team.

Ben is a great Openside and a bit of a throwback to Sam Warburton and is not unlike another Sam (Underhill) in the way he plays. However, he's mostly had to play at Blindside when he's a natural Openside.

I've heard that Connacht are aware of his availability and he's also been scouted by Pat Lam for Bristol and by George Skivington for Gloucester. However, neither English club has (as yet) made a firm offer for him.

Ben's a great talent - he's worked hard at Gilfach Goch (where Irish great Gerry McLoughlin used to live) and won the Crawshay Shield before moving to Welsh side Aberavon and then to Swansea and the Llanelli Scarlets and Wales U20s. It'd be a shame if he fell by the wayside and he would definitely be good enough for Connacht if they need an Openside Flanker.

Plus, he could be tempted by future Ireland honours as well!

Therefore, if Connacht or Leinster, Munster or Ulster might be interested, he's a free agent very soon!
