Just wondering if anyone can tell me if there is flexi-time as a CO for the guards, like in the HSE. Currently a CO in HSE and contemplating moving after getting on a panel for AGS CO. Thank you.

There usually isn't but it's extremely role dependent. We are waiting on the official WFH policy to be published later this year.

EDIT: Sorry I was referring to WFH. We do indeed have flexitime.

    Flexi - Yes

WFH - Very limited and the policy seems to be pointing towards 1 day per week when implemented, but planning and negotiation of it has dragged on for years and still no white smoke.

Bear in mind that the government has plans to remove civil service status from civilian staff in AGS. If/when this happens you'll be an employee of AGS, subject to its rules on discipline etc, and not be eligible for interdepartmental promotions, transfers etc. Lots of Garda civilian staff trying to get out of there for this reason.

    Scrap the cap!
