    Just wondering what people's opinions are on the best and most reliable outboards. I'm basing this on a 19ft lakeboat scenario. Reasonable conditions. Cost of service, parts stc, short shaft I presume

    Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, Mercury.

    Take your pick, they are all good these days.

    Do the usual comparison on Price, warranty, local service etc.

    I've had trouble free motoring from my Suzuki DF20A
