Shopping in the UK

I am looking to get a custom wheels and I was speaking to one place in the UK. Seller said he could ship them to me ex UK Vat. Anyone knows how does shopping in UK work these days ? I will be charged customs and irish vat (if so what's the %). Or is there any other way to work around it such as parcelmotel etc ?

If this turns out to be too expensive I might get them made in shop in Germany instead.

Yes if he removes the VAT for you then you should be charged irish vat by customs.

Even if they don't remove the UK VAT you still need to pay Irish VAT as the UK is outside the free market.

OP you will have to pay duty and VAT and this is on the total cost of getting the wheels to Ireland. Duty is around 4% or 5% from a quick Google.

If the wheels are assembled in the UK (even from imported parts) they count as manufactured in the UK, so there should be no import duty.

However, I did the same, and I wouldn't again. The courier (UPS) charged Irish VAT, and when I had to return the wheels to the UK, UPS told me I had to reclaim the VAT from Revenue, not UPS. Revenue told me that this was not true. I've been chasing UPS for weeks on this and they have ignored me and fobbed me off with non-answers. I've talked to my bank and they said I have a case for a chargeback.

Dealing with the UK isn't worth the hassle IMO. Try somewhere like https://www.fun-works.com/ (Germany) or https://fitwheels.eu/en/ instead.

If you can find someone that does customs handling, final price is a lot clearer.
