    Hi all,

Thinking of converting detached garage to habitable space with planning. Sewerage and electric supply in place but now wondering if electric supply is sufficient rating for possible ovens/electric shower/EV charger/heat pump/etc.

If inadequate supply won’t be digging up tarmac yard to house to connect a larger supply cable.

main house supply is also on a 63A main switch so does it mean garage has same rated cable as house 🤷‍♂️

    Please see photos attached.

    thanks !

I’d say you will need a new connection for all the above mentioned, as your house won’t be able to take the load from new apartment and existing house , the wiring in the shed most likely has a small cable , 6sq or 10sq

Thanks - Checked cable this morning. 6sq with a c.25m cable run to garage from house as you predicated.

    House is 16kva connection.

What from list above could we run from that cable please?

sockets and lights would be about it , and maybe a small water heater

What age is your house , minimum cable for sub board should be 10sq ,
