    Hello all

Looking for some info on tv setup for a new build before Snag. All tv rooms have coax cable running to attic . Electrician has told me that tv company (Eir , virgin media) will connect to a data cable (Cat 5 ) at meter box to bring signal to attic where it can then be converted to coax connection. Does this sound right ?

coax is old school - better off running cat5e or cat6 instead. They probably had loads of coax they wanted to move on.

All is not lost though - just extra cost, you can buy conversion boxes to go coax to cat5, but they will probably require power etc.

    best of luck !
