Sri Lanka finish on 163/8 v Ireland in a warm up match today. The 18th (22 runs) and 20th (18runs) over went for a combined total of 40 of that figure.

Yeah we were going ok but those overs…ffs

All but over as a contest their bowlers just more disciplined in terms of their economy..

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,311 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

    122 all out, collapsed.

Last 5 wickets only amassed 28 runs.

Canada with a great start vs the USA. Docile pitch but Canada 40/0 after 4.

Considering the home team are playing, weather is excellent the attendance looks pure shîte, a couple of thousand max. Empty seats all over the place. It’s a very picturesque but tiny ground.

Some response from the USA to end up winning comfortably, Aaron Jones 94 off 40

West Indies struggling to get going, by the looks of things, but should get it done eventually

PNG seem to have had some nice kits over the years (this one maybe not their best) - four colours on the flag gives ya a lot of design options I guess

Was an enjoyable enough match, I thought WI were going to blow the total out of the water. If PNG had reviewed just before the rain break they would have had them at 8/2

Yeah it was a fun game up until those last two overs. Nice to see PNG playing well

Super over win for Namibia against Oman overnight

    Sri Lanka having a shocker.

The outfield looks huge even when they do get a hold of it.

Uganda looked completely out of their depth last night against Afghanistan albeit nice to see a new country in a World Cup.

Have to say that the scheduling is all over the place trying to suit certain markets. 10:30am starts in New York on a Monday is hardly going to draw a big crowd but is done mainly to suit prime time viewing in India. The gap of at least 5 or 6 hours between matches also doesn't allow the tournament to flow.

Interesting pitch to say the least in New York yesterday. Far too much in favour of the bowlers and since Sri Lanka didn't know what a good score was to set, it was a comfortable chase for South Africa. With Ireland playing on the same pitch tomorrow, you fear for us against the likes of Bumrah and co, but I guess whatever pitch it would be on, India win 95 times out of 100.

Only dipping in and out if it so far, the schedule is a bit messy. While it's good to see more countries playing theses tournaments can be really dragged out before they get interesting.

Some innings by Jones for the US the other night though.

England V Scotland could be interesting, I fear for Ireland tomorrow but maybe they catch India on a bad day!

rain delay here. play due to start at 4.

cant see scotland getting anything out of this.

Chris Jordan at it again. Gold chains loads of talk about how he's delighted to be back in Barbados, as soon as he bowls he goes for 15 off his first over. He has the satisfied look of a man who has stolen a living for more than 10 years. It's amazing how many chances this fella gets

I watched that USA Canada game. Usa needed 153 off the last 12 overs, and scored them in 9.4 overs. It was crazy, but Canada fell apart as well as Jones playing very well and hitting almost everything out of the middle. Papua New Guinea played well, and Uganda had a tough introduction, but it's great to see 20 teams and some newcomers

Scotland doing great, shame about the rain.
With so many WC tournaments (it seems they are an annual event) there’s surely a few upsets due. It must be hard for players to take things so seriously when the next franchise pay day is just around the corner.

Starting to look likely that this game will be abandoned although conditions can change quickly in the Caribbean.

Great to see a huge Nepal contingent in Dallas even if they are having a very tough time of it against the Dutch.

Reduced to 10 overs each. Resuming at 7:10

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,889 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

scotland finished 90/0 off their 10 overs. couple of early wickets might have england worried.

    abandoned

England keep one unenviable record going after that result today. They (along with Slovenia) are one of only two icc European countries (from 34) to have never beaten another European country in a t20i

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,311 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

forecast is pretty fair so we won’t have a weather affected game. Overcast and quite humid over there but not too hot.

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,311 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

so Ireland lose the toss. Put in to bat….Stirling talking his team up in the pre match interview.

Hopefully we can put up a decent score and make it competitive.

Pitch not in great nick and overhead conditions should suit bowlers too. Odd drop of rain seemingly too.

    Stirling gone already! FFS.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,889 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

    7/1. sterling gone for 2

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,445 ✭✭✭MFPM

Really poor shot by Stirling and so unnecessary.

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,311 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

even worse by Balbernie, appalling shot ffs. 😒

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,889 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

9/2. balbirnie gone now for 5. stepping onto the leg side, presume to create some space but bowled.
