I don't think I've watched a single minute of this yet. When you look at the fixtures and see the likes of Uganda and Canada (I know, I know) then I just think meh, I'll skip this part and come back when the real tournament starts.

Hilariously low total set by India. 119 all out. But I assume it’s not in Ireland’s interest for Pakistan to win.

india giving this a good go. pakistan are 88/5. they need 32 in 21.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,064 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

not sure about that caught behind. pakistan need 18 off 5

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,064 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

Scotland beat Oman by 7 wickets, chased 151 in 13.1 overs. England are in trouble in this group

Australia looked good yesterday they won it on the power play and Zampa.

Exciting game between India and Pakistan, Pakistan had the game in their hands but Bumrah made the difference.

Bumrah is a freak. Any situation in any format, give him the ball and he will invariably get the job done.

Impressive win for Scotland. Keeping the pressure on England

interesting match between Bangladesh and South Africa.

Bangladesh bowling effectively, 90% of the deliveries from spinners are flat and fast…proving hard to get away…

Umpires have had to have a couple of stern words with their players, don’t know what about but maybe there was some skullduggery or something ill-tempered said by their players, they have form for both.

Exciting match SAfrica and Bangladesh. The 4 leg byes Bangladesh didn’t get due to a lbw review would have changed the dynamics of the last couple of overs.

Just proves even when chasing a low total you’ve got to keep the run rate up we’re seeing some dead batting zones the same with Pakistan yesterday.

when Mahmudullah holed out to Markram the camera panned back immediately to him and you could read his thinking… “ fûck, I thought I’d nailed that for 6 ! ☹️ “ ….taken about a foot or two inside the boundary by Markram on the run and over his head too. Difficult enough catch considering he had serious ground to make up….….

An exciting end to an absorbing if low scoring contest.

Yes bewildered I thought, as in most sports fine margins

canada finish on 106. surely there is no way they can defend that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,993 ✭✭✭pavb2

A comfortable win for Pakistan they played within themselves and could have improved their Run Rate a bit more if they pushed it.

Nepal vs Sri Lanka in Florida is a washout which all but eliminates Sri Lanka.

Ireland play both their final games at the same venue and the weather forecast doesn't look great with thunderstorms prevalent.

Hard to see Ireland prevailing in the competition anyway give their results but yeah the weather would certainly put paid to it!

The forecast looks terrible for Lauderhill, heavy thunderstorms with localised flooding possible each day

    USA already in trouble- 4/2.

25/3...Jones out, big blow to the US.

USA have India 39/3 in response to 110/8.

    Australia annihilated Namibia..

only 2 out of the 11 Namibian batsmen got into double figures. A sorry looking scorecard.

Australia in reply scored 74 runs in just 5.4 overs…. Each of their 3 batsmen with strike rates over 200….

6 overs gone in West Indies vs New Zealand…. Very one sided so far. WI 23/4 and struggling big time against the NZ pace men. Runs proving difficult to come by and wickets tumbling. Bowling has been excellent it really has. WI have no answers here. So far anyway.

    30/5… sheeeeeet. 😳

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,064 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

i think NZ may be eliminated tonight. looks impossible vs WI with NZ needing 33 off the last over.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,473 ✭✭✭MFPM

NZ look gone, they will win their remaining games, but if Afghanistan beat PNG tomorrow, then NZ are done.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,222 ✭✭✭VillaMad

Looked like the end of a golden era for this New Zealand side.

Getting to at least the semi-finals in the last 5 ODI World Cups and the last 3 T20 World Cups and also winning a Test Championship, it has been a hugely successful period for a country that have constantly punched above their weight. The vast majority of the squad is in their early to mid-thirties and change is surely when the next event rolls around.

Australia and India are clearly out ahead of all the teams so far, but with home advantage, the West Indies look dangerous. Recovering from being 30-5 and 76-7 and winning says a lot about them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 336 ✭✭StormForce13

    Yep.

Latest from Cricfo: "According to the US National Weather Service (NWS), a "flood watch" remains in effect for all of southern Florida through Friday evening.

The matches are set to be played at 10.30am local time." three fixtures - USA vs Ireland, Canada vs India and Ireland vs Pakistan - could be affected, with the forecast suggesting heavy rain all through.

If none of the games get played, then the US will qualify, which they probably deserve.
