Vodafone or eir on the M3?

I’ve been with VF and coming south on m3 around the turnoff for kilmessen , coverage has always been bad, but recently it’s dropping to zero coverage and dropping calls there.
I tried an eir sim, and it’s the same.

On the way out of Dublin, on the m3 just before turn to navan I’m also dropping calls.
Other half’s iPhone doing the same ? Does any network fully cover the m3?

I thought vodafone would have the best coverage in the country, It wouldn't be settings on your phone or anything defaulting to 4g/5g and not using 2g/3g for voice calls?

Vodafone's network has declined significantly in recent years.

They pretty much stopped rollout of 4G to anywhere outside of major cities, their 5G network is so sparse it's not even worth bothering with, while they scaled back their 2G network to the absolute bare minimum.

Now with 3G switchoff underway, there are large parts of the country which has only 2G with Vodafone, and because they scaled 2G back to the bare minimum it's frequently overloaded meaning you drop off the network completely.

Jesus thats mad, I remember people saying they paid the extra to vodafone than the other providers as you would get better coverage….Thats not the case now then so.
