Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Is it acceptable to close the cavity around a window with packed PIR insulation or is there a requirement for propriatry cavity closers/firestop products to be used?

It is a 200mm pumped cavity with blockwork internal and external leafs.

    Thanks

Proprietary closers are best practice but other methods may be acceptable providing your assigned certifier can sign off on same.

Proprietary closers are an expensive option and make airtightness sealing more difficult. Best practice is to return the inner leaf of the blockwork to 100mm from the outer leaf and fill the remaining gap with PIR insulation.
