    No, that's not right. Post Brexit (i.e. after the rebalancing of the political groups when UK MEPs withdrew from the Parliament) ID had 76 members and I think still had going into the election. Of those, 9 were German MEPs of the AfD party.

    After the election they have 58 members, a net loss of 18. So, in addition to losing the 9 AfD members, they've lost 9 other members. AfD have 15 members after the election, a gain of 6, but if we aggregate ID and AfD it comes to 73, a net loss of 3 seats.

    The right has nevertheless gained seats, but it's not ID who are the beneficiaries; it's ECR, which has gained 21 seats, largely due to a strong performance by Fratelli d'Italia. They would have done better still, except the Law and Justice Party in Poland lost 7 of its seats.
