Hi, its been brought to my attention that a neighbours dog is left alone in the house for long periods of time. Mon to Fri it will be 10-14 hours during the day. At weekends its up to 28 hours at a time. The owner is the sole occupant of the house and works a day job.

The dog itself is very old, can barely walk (could not climb a step for example) and is blind in one eye. Ive contacted the ISPCA but all they did was call out during the day when the owner is at work.

The dog can be heard barking and whimpering at various times day and night.

I think its extremely cruel to treat an old dog this way.

Have you spoken with the neighbour?

Maybe offer to check-in on the dog as you have heard it barking etc.

Maybe the owner is in an impossible position, who knows, you won't find out until you ask.
