Hi

Anyone know of this front wheel rim will take a 900 x r16 tyre?

Or how can I tell ?

Currently a 750x16 tyre on it.

It depends on the Wheel Rim. The David Brown 995 I have here has 550 x 16 rims on it. I know this because I had to change one last year, as it was destroyed with rust.

As it says on the links it says - Fits: "750 x 16" Tyre

The 550 x 16 old Rim. The 16 refers to the outside Diameter where the tyre sits (inches) and the 550 refers to 5.5" width where the tyre sits.

So your rim wouldn't take a 900 tyre then?

I'd say you would need to get a wider rim like this, but you'll have to check if it fits your hub.

This 8 x 16 takes a 900 x 16 tyre.

If you ring this guy, he'll tell ya if it would work.

The wider tyre might hit the chassis or The steering ram. Anything bigger than a 700x16 on the 996 will hit the steering ram.
