Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just wondering what people would go for between these two?

I know they are very similar when it comes to build, etc. And it's probably a personal preference at end of day.

Any advantage or disadvantages of one over the other. Open to any advice or suggestions

They're sister companies. Pretty much the same car underneath. Same engine, same chassis, same suspension setup.

Only real difference is the styling. Kia try to market themselves as more sporty, while Hyundai are fairly conservative in their design interior and exterior.

Compare the EV6 to the Ioniq 5 for example. EV6 looks great, stylish and curvy. While the Ioniq 5 is boxy with sharp corners.

Same goes for the sportage and tucson

As above, they're incredibly similar underneath. I much prefer the look of the mark 3 Tucson to the mark 4 Sportage, which are those years as far as I remember. Not sure what it is about the front of the Sportage that puts me off.

The mark 5 Sportage is far nicer than the newer Tucson IMO, but I think it was released in 2021/22.

One thing to note is they both use the same gear box and are well known for the synchro going in one of 3rd to 6th gear. I paid €800 after Christmas to fix mine, he replaced 3rd up to 6th to avoid issues in future. Something to check when you're shopping around

The Sportage is nicer looking in 2018 than the Tucson, and isn’t as common or likely to be mistaken for a Garda car - but they’re basically the same thing as the Sportage anyway.

think that model tucson looks very bland and as said too many around . also you might get a sportage with some warranty left.

common problems are engines with tucsons, was shown a newer one few weeks ago which was starting to show issues, sportages have problematic gear boxes, check both for these issues, both lovely cars though

Id be going against the grain, I prefer the look of the Tuscon. I could never warm to the older Sportage. New Kias really do look class.

No difference in quality. 7yr warranty is a big one though. You'd expect the Kia has any necessary repairs done properly.
