    Hello,

I have a new Zappi 7Kw EV charger that I would like to install at home, just on the outside part of the wall across the breaker (about one meter distant). A local electrician sent me a quote (labor only as I have already the charger) for 850€ . Is this the normal ongoing installation price in Dublin ? It looks exhorbitiant. My brother lives in Italy and got his EV charger in Milan, as per the invoice that he showed me, the labor for the installation was 290€ . I wonder if it's normal for Dublin or is it a ripoff price ?

    Thanks

    Paul.

Are you availing of the grant?

Shop around. EV specialists often will only install chargers they supply and know and they get discounts on purchase price. The travel time, multiple visits and messing around with apps, call backs, warranty support etc. That said I got it done years ago for around 300, but electricians are on double the pay now a day's due to supply and demand.

Many good installers can give a quote over the phone or WhatsApp video call.

Got zappi installed recently, new sub board,10 m cable run to charge point, new earth rod which included 2m chase across path, new earth rod box, making good on path, all materials including zappi. All testing and certs. Also moved some other wiring and tidied up my consumer unit.Cost was 2k,will get 600e back from grant. It was a nice tidy job,he was only one to come and look at job, others wanted pics or videos and were vague on costs.
