    Hi All,

Does anyone have a DME vulcan extreme ebike (pedelec) and if so, what your experience like? Are they worth the cost (approx €2k) There's not too many reviews online in English.

    Thanks

Stay away, a quick google shows you that you are looking at a rebrand of an older model e bike from a few years ago. Poorly designed with a large stem taking all the force in an emergency braking scenario and the main sellers only have a mobile number on their site. Tyres that are difficult to replace advertised as suitable for potholes even though the circumference makes them more than useless in a large pothole scenario.

Avoid like the plague. At best you are buying from a reseller who will be incommunicado with the most minor of problems, at worst, you'll regret it immensely and the same issue as the most minor of problems.

Noted on the above and thanks so much for letting me know. Would you have an suggestions of a similar type of foldable ebike?for a similar price point ( max 2k).

There's no need for such ludicrous tyres on a bike. Makes the bike stupidly heavy and slows it, and there's no upside. The one posted about is essentially a cheap motorbike.

I'm fairly certain decathlon do folding e-bikes for well under your budget, and Kuma do a folding e-bike for approx 2k, can be seen on this page:

Nice one. Yeah I'm actually looking into the Kuma F1 at the minute. If anyone owns one, how do you find it?

Thanks. I read that post alright. Sounds quite positive in terms of Kuma.

The problem with folding e-bikes is weight and ease of movement when folded. My Dad has a Fiido D11 which is one of the lightest e-bikes with a decent gear set and decent range. No suspension so it’s a little hard riding. He likes it though. It’s still big and heavy but he can get it on a train, in the boot of the car etc.

Those DME yokes weigh ~26kg or more and are huge folded. They have a big battery but they need it due to the fat tyres I suspect. They are popular though, I know a guy doing 40k a day on one for the past year.

There was a thread here about getting e-bikes on a bike trailer, and the poster in question had similar looking engwe bikes, and they were 34kg each, IIRC.

Thanks for the input. I've narrowed it down to the below. Which would be the standout option?
