Printing plates - Embossing using old aluminium

    I am hoping to do some craft embossing, trying to start a hobby to distract my mind from cancer.

    Do printing companys dispose of their old lithographic (aluminium) printing plates / sheets?

    I have reached out to a few places but not had any luck.
