Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Buying House with Electric Heating

    Hi there,

I am considering putting an offer on a house that ticks nearly all the boxes for me besides the fact that the heating is electric so I would appreciate any advice people can offer please. FYI, the house has a C1 BER rating. The property owner has invested in bringing this up.

    My main questions are:

    • Are the heaters in the attached pic any good? The house has four or five of them in it
    • Should I factor in the fact that the living room has a solid fuel stove in it into my decision? From the limited bit i've read, they seem to be more efficient than electric
    • Ballpark, How much should I budget to put in a new energy efficient heating system?
    • Are there any red flags about the house that could mean that installing a new energy system would be significantly more expensive than would normally be expected?

Thank you - this is the biggest decision of my life so I would really appreciate any advice people have
