It may as well be broken, seems pretty clear that nothing is going to be done about the traffic. "Tried nothing and all out of ideas" seems to sum it up.

So be it. May as well just leave it there.

Groups have 3 Settings. Soccer was always set to 'Secret'. This has now been changed to 'Private' - meaning the Group Soccer can now be seen by All posters - but will still have to post in the Soccer Access Requests thread for Access. This will in some way, improve the Visibility of the Soccer Forum.

The only other option was to change it to Public - which was discussed but as the Feedback has shown, has alot of opposition to too.

Update

We are looking at opening up Soccer in a manner that will give All Boards users read-only access to which lets them read threads and thank posts.

Users don't get access to post replies on threads or start new threads until they have reached certain requirements - e.g.at least 50 posts and a Boards member for at least 7 days.

This access change happens automatically, there's no access approval required.

Warnings/Bans will be applied in the same manner, access is returned automatically once a Ban is over.

This should happen over the next week.

Yea I think the only difference is on the old site people still had to manually apply for access and mods had to let them in.

Now they'll get access automatically once they meet the defined criteria of post count plus membership length.

If the forum is being opened to everyone then I think the mods will need to be more assertive with the ban hammer.

Starting with this youknowwhat in the ROI thread tonight. I don't know how to report a post anymore on mobile.

This is being actioned. The forum is now visible/accessible to all/most but we will still be upholding the same standards of moderating expected by the users.

How do I access the soccer forum from the drop down menu? It doesn't appear under catereogies → sports for me.

First impressions of opening up the forum, greater quantity less quality posts. I'd fear the good posters will start drifting away.
