This is being actioned. The forum is now visible/accessible to all/most but we will still be upholding the same standards of moderating expected by the users.

How do I access the soccer forum from the drop down menu? It doesn't appear under catereogies → sports for me.

First impressions of opening up the forum, greater quantity less quality posts. I'd fear the good posters will start drifting away.

That's probably a query for @awec cos you're right it doesn't seem to be there unless you go into the sports category

That had to try something to increase the traffic.

I can't gain access to the "Republic of Ireland General Discussion" thread. Keep getting this error message. All other threads are fine. Would a Mod mind having a look at this issue?

Posted in it just now and seems to be fine, can you see the Thread Title in Soccer?.

If you click on the "7 minutes ago" part of the title on mobile it will bring you to that error page, if you click on the thread title itself it will work.

Probably just one of the many Vanilla Bugs

    Hi,

Would it be possible to close Premier League Club threads while Ireland international matches are on?

It might get more posts and interactions in the Ireland match threads.

Would be worried that might do the opposite… I'm not sure that people come on just to post anything and if they find their ideal thread closed will just bring that energy to the thread you happen to want them to post in. It's probably more likely they just won't come back the second time, knowing the thread they're interested in is locked. Meanwhile, a forum without locked threads brings people in for whatever other thread they want to post in, and in doing so they may see any activity in the Ireland thread and get involved. Basically, lets not push traffic away from a forum that's already struggling.

I appreciate the suggestion to try and drive more interest in posting on those games.

Speaking as a mod, the forum is the soccer forum rather than the Republic of Ireland National Team forum. On that basis we wouldn't be looking to lock threads not related to the Ireland team when Ireland games are on.

At moderation level it would be a manual process and not be feasible to have a person available to lock, and later unlock, all premier league related threads when Ireland have a game.

Both feedback and a question, is there any thread for selling/buying soccer related items (e.g. boots, jerseys)?

I reported a comment yesterday for baiting and nothing was done, later that day I see a similar comment warned.

What is the process for reported posts, who reviews them? Is it one mod or a team decision.

The 2 comments involved fans of the same 2 teams, 1 fan of each baiting but only 1 was warned.
