Trump has never had any interest in the "job" of being President - His interest is entirely in the access to money, power and influence the Office provides.

And of course the legal protection from his lifetime of criminality he hopes it provides.

Trump said something like this to Georgia republicans during the US Senate runoff elections there. Part of Trump’s election denialism: like why bother voting because it’s rigged.

Georgia Republicans were really upset by his comments, later suggesting that the close election may have been influenced adversely by Trump to where the Dem candidate later won. And this runoff state election was in Georgia with both a Republican governor and Secretary of State, the latter responsible for elections, so the rigged election comments had little or no merit.

With the plans in Project 2025 for what they plan to do with the DoJ and the FBI, dare I say it, he's already pi$$ed off the wrong people.

A big difference this time around is that he isn't in office so his ability to impact the response to another attempt at a Jan 6th is gone.

If a massive crowd was expected to rock up on Jan 6th (or whatever date the confirmation vote is this time) then their will be a massive security presence on the ground - They won't be able to sneeze wrong on the day.

The far bigger concern is smaller incidents more serious incidents around the country -

I wouldn't want to be a county or State level Election commissioner type person certifying results in some narrow swing state that falls to Harris. The chances of some kind of attack on those people is probably quite high sadly

This is a couple of things regarding "border Czar". The second image is a car that is being passed around to Democrats as talking point regarding the nickname Border Czar. Was mentioned in a press brief.

This is something they are trying to remove. Shows that she was named the most liberal of all senators. She has in the past mentioned the "defund the police" rubbish.

But yea it just the Right that lie

And you have a lot of MAGA demagogues pregaming for “civil war,” the guy from heritage who said it will be bloodless if the left allows it etc.

That, right there is what I think best explains the sudden shift in the vibe this week, been going on since the Debate: Biden got crushed on that stage mostly by himself, “I beat medicare” etc. and slack-jawing it. Then these lunatics couldn’t keep their powder dry, they’ve been pregaming for a civil war for years and they felt like they just won the election after that debate and started declaring victory in this “second American Revolution” like they had already won the election, with a lot of doom and gloom headlines leaning in that direction:

    https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/jul/15/aoc-democrat-trump-election-win-comments

    https://www.politico.com/news/2024/07/04/leader-of-the-pro-trump-project-2025-suggests-there-will-be-a-new-american-revolution-00166583

That feeling didn’t get any better when Trump was shot at, even here many commenters first reaction was “Trump just won the election etc.”

So when Biden announced he was dropping out and Kamala was taking over the ticket, of **** course a massive groundswell appeared behind her to oppose that movement. Too many people aren’t about this project 2025 handmaids tale bullshit “bloodless 2nd Revolution.” Voter registration and donations surge wildly.

So I guess with Trump now backing out of more debates and telling his voters to not vote yeah, he seems to be over giving the election any sense of legitimacy, ‘just don’t vote, doesn’t matter, when we lose we scream how unfair it was, to hell with democracy start the civil war.’

But it’s not like law enforcement (including federal and military) won’t be ready for this. I don’t know what they hope to achieve and given everything I don’t think there will be a high turnout for this 2nd civil war they want to put on, he could barely get people to show up to the court house in New York ffs. But if he keeps this up and Kamala keeps up her Kamalehameha wave, she could wind up winning against MAGA in a landslide. TBD.

I'm not sure, but the shirt is, and there are a few different ones with the same phrase. I sure hope none of those Trump rally t-shirt vendors stocked up on a load of them.

you know we can look up the sponsors and authors of the bill right?

Republicans introducing some nonsense bill into the House doesn’t in any way mean she was ever named Border Czar.

This is very desperate and sad of the MAGA cult to act like this is proof she was. 😂

    http://congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-resolution/253/cosponsors

oh and by the way: this bill never got out of committee 🤡

    and this?

she hasn’t been a Senator since 2021, this alleged govtrack meme is just all wrong

Oddly enough, the best fit for the label "cult" would be the Dems.

Their denial of reality is quite something.

Harris was a state attorney general.

Why do you keep debasing your credibility like this.

There’s talk that Trump may dump his VP partner Vance, because of all the adverse publicity related to Vance’s earlier childless cat lady comments directed at Harris. Apparently a large number of celebrities and women voters are on fire against Vance. Rumors suggest that Trump will substitute Nikky Haley in an attempt to recapture some of the women’s vote.

Vance was officially nominated by Trump for the Republican VP during the RNC convention a few days ago and gave an acceptance speech. He has been campaigning as VP since. If Trump could replace Vance, it would look a bit incompetent by Trump, and obviously a form of damage control. Plus, the adverse Harris replacement of Biden Republican talking points would become moot.

  • Registered Users Posts: 83,168 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

that would be too perfect, then all the attacks that MAGA has made about Biden dropping out, threatening to sue to keep him on the ballot etc. can be turned back around on him 😂 DOUBLY so because unlike the DNC, the RNC has already completed the process for locking in its general election ticket and it’s Trump/Vance. There are a number of states where the same legal theories they were gonna sue the democrats under will totally bite them in the ass.

Saying she hasnt been Senator since 2021 means what exactly? The picture shows you a date of 2019…………………

Republican talking point that begs explanation, as it does not seem plausible given that Harris was the Attorney General of California, and re-elected for 2 terms suggesting that her performance satisfied the voters. Furthermore, Trump donated $5,000 USD to the Reelection of Harris for Attorney General Campaign, and Ivanka Trump donated $1,000 for reelection too.

Only time will tell, given that none of us are within the circle of Trump’s advisors for his campaign.

But Kamala was never in charge of the border

Except here is Biden assigning her as such
    https://x.com/i/status/1816098217638928424

Im sure that the moniker "Czar" is an exaggeration by the Right. But she indeed was in charge of that task and failed.

the picture claims she was a senator until 2023

The link doesn’t support your claim. She was Californias top prosecutor

    Completely non credible

  • Registered Users Posts: 304 ✭✭Redliketoast

In terms of the Donations it doesnt surprise me at all. Trump was a democrat. I can easily believe without verifying, that he would agree with some of her views.

That aside, she has talked about defund the police. She also wants to reform ICE. I gave you a link to the Defund teh police and the best you come back with is that it doesnt seem plausible. That is like me saying it is cloudy out and you saying it is not plausible that I would say that…………

Here is another link in case you were interested. She is in favour of less cops. That is factual.

Trump backs out of debate with Kamala Harris:

Weakened Trump Backs Out of Presidential Debate as Campaign Falters

After expressing willingness to debate Kamala Harris, Trump abruptly reverses course, leaving debate plans in limbo.

    Brett Meiselas

A weakened Donald Trump has backed out of participating in upcoming presidential debates, despite previously expressing a willingness to face off against Vice President Kamala Harris. Just days ago, Trump stated he would "absolutely" debate Harris, even suggesting he would be open to more than one debate. His campaign spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, reaffirmed this commitment on Newsmax on Thursday, saying, "Trump is committed to debating Kamala Harris. It will happen." In May, ABC News scheduled a presidential debate set for September 10.

However, within an hour of Leavitt's statement, Trump's handlers released an official announcement declaring that he would not participate in any debates for the time being. The statement made various excuses, citing "political chaos" within the Democratic Party and uncertainty over the finalization of the Democratic nominee as reasons for the decision.

Despite the claims by Trump's handlers, the Democratic Party has experienced a massive wave of enthusiasm and unity since Vice President Kamala Harris became the Democratic frontrunner. Trump has found himself on the defensive since the election dynamics changed, and his poll numbers have steadily decreased. Questions have also been raised about the viability of Trump's pick for vice president, J.D. Vance, who has made a wave of negative headlines for his attacks on Americans who don't bear children.

Are you at all familiar with how ICE operated under the Trump administration? This isn’t much of a got-her.

    https://www.texastribune.org/2021/02/07/biden-immigration-ice/

Now what Biden wanted and what he got varied quite a lot, but it would be strange to use her wanting to deviate from how ICE worked under the Trump admin as a slam, that’s what Biden wanted too and he had the political mandate from the election to do it.
