Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Travelled from Dublin Port to Limerick recently and paid the toll by the M50 Dublin Port and again at Portlaois! I’m reading that there is 2 charges to be paid on the M50? Is this correct? Didn’t drive past any barriers or know if we past a toll point.

Also I should have said it’s not our usual boat route and we travelled in a UK registered car!

When did you travel? You have until 8pm the next day to pay the toll after that you have penalties

The barrier-free toll on the M50 is between the N3 and N4 junctions. There are purple overhead signs advising you of this. The toll must be paid by 8 p.m. the following night. You can visit eflow.ie for more Info.

The Dublin port tunnel is also part of the M50, and as you said you paid the toll at the booths before entry.

The toll you paid near Portlaoise was on the M7, not the M50.

    Hope this info helps.

You will have passed under a toll gantry on M50 which records your registration - there would be only 1 toll to pay.

Others may comment whether or not NTA will chase you up with a UK registered car but, to answer the question - there is 1 toll and you will pass it again on way back to the the port if you follow the same route home - its between Junction 7 (Sligo) and 9 (Limerick).

If you want to pay then you can do so online - there are no booths on the M50 any longer (thank goodness!)

Barrier-less M50 toll is between J7 (Sligo/Galway) and J6 (Cavan/Navan). You can pay up to 8 p.m. the day after you pass before penalties start to accrue for late payment.

Did you receive a text telling you this? If so it's a scam!

If your vehicle is not registered in the Republic of Ireland, you may see the message below when you go to pay your toll online:

    Your Vehicle…..

It appears that your vehicle is not registered in the Republic of Ireland. Please enter the details of your vehicle's details manually.

If you see this message, please manually select your vehicle class in the dropdown box labelled “Vehicle class”. Vehicle class refers to the type of vehicle you are trying to make a toll payment on, for example a car, truck etc. Once you select the vehicle class you can then continue with your payment.

They say that they can chase up overseas drivers for non payment using a debt collection agency.

Yeah you have missed one if you took the tunnel just after you left the port. You should have 3 paid in total for that trip

#1- the one you mentioned "near the port" on the M50 at the toll booth

    #2 - a barrier free one between jct3-4 on the M50

#3 - the one at Portlaoise

if you came up across the city to join the M50 at and of Jct 4/5/6 you only have the #2 & #3 above to pay
