First events are the TT's on Saturday 27th and the various off road events kick off the same weekend.

Men's Road Race is Sat 3rd and that kicks off the second block of cycling which includes the women's Road Race and the track events.

In non Irish news Tom Pidcock will again compete in mountain bike disciplines as well as road and Pog has pulled out of the Slovenian team.

Odd to pick Mullen for the TT. It was his main focus at the start of his career but rarely performs well in them these days and Healy has been performing better and better in Time Trials lately. Then again maybe Healy didn't want to do it.

I would have preferred we just threw the TT and brought Dunbar alongside Healy for the RR.

As in two options for the win, versus what we have now which is all eggs in the Healy basket? I can see the logic in what they've gone for… Mullen could do a savage amount of work for Healy if needed. Whereas not sure what hope Healy or Dunbar would have each on their own. Plus, Dunbar probably still feeling the effects of his Giro crash?

Wind is 5-8kph so might be worth the risk assuming the front disk really is that effective.

Gonna be a rainy day though especially for the early riders so will suit the brave and the good bike handlers.

The weather looks absolutely stink in Paris. It will surely throw up a few surprising results.

The women's TT has started. I'm watching on Eurosport/Discovery. Great to have the regular pro cycling presenters & commentators that we are used to watching/listening.

Van Aert surely the best bike handler but luck will be the biggest factor I assume.

Be interesting to see if guys with ambitions for the RR will take risks.

seems odd hte very first corner has a crossing on it - suppose not as much of an issue in the dry, but in the rain that crossing is gonna be slippy af.
