Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

Quick question, if the NCT is out on a car and the car is involved in a crash/has fire damage leading to car being written off, will the insurance company pay out? Thanks.

Depends on the terms & conditions of your insurance policy

Thanks for replying, Its underwritten by RSA, insurance was got through Bank of Ireland, if that's any help, maybe someone has dealt with this issue with them previously.

You need to find the actual policy document and policy booklet your were sent when you purchased the policy. Remember also policy payout depends on who is judged to be at fault for the crash that resulted in the fire.

Recently renewed my own car insurance and changed broker and provider, it is prominent in the literature regarding NCT & policy validation. Which is not an issue as car has 18 months NCT. But I did wonder if out of date while waiting a test date what would happen.

    Some require a valid NCT

Some merely state that car must be roadworthy

....Not getting into the whole roadworthy v nct debate
