Filling gaps between tarmac and kerb.

In the past I've tried power washing out the dirt, soaking the gaps with weedkiller and filling them in with concrete tinted with some black cement colour. Sometimes that might be successful for a couple of years, but as the tarmac is 18 years old now and beginning to unravel a bit around the edges of the drive, even small weeds are causing further damage.

Not a huge fan of constantly using weedkiller around the place, and I haven't found that the vinegar/salt mixes to be very effective, infact I believe the salt has been weakening the tarmac even further along these areas.

Does anyone know of any sort of rubber or cold tar type product that I could pour into these areas that might help consolidate the weakened tarmac and fill the gaps?
