Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Insurance Claim Advise

    Hi,

Hoping for some advise. We had booked flights and a villa for a holiday, for myself, my wife, our 2 young kids, and my mother-in-law. Myself and my wife have vhi travel insurance, but not family cover. Due to a family illness, we could not travel and the villa was non=-refundable.

I submitted a claim which was accepted, and have received 1/5th of the total flight costs, and 1/5th of the villa cost. While the treatment of the flights makes sense as they were individual seat bookings, I was expecting/hoping for the villa to be treated differently. The booking is in my name and I paid the full amount. The no-show confirmation states 3 adults and 2 children.

Is it unreasonable to expect the villa to be treated differently as there is no direct booking for all 5 people. The cost would have been the same if it was just myself and my wife.

Appreciate any input if anyone had anything similar.

    Thanks

You didn't have family cover, hence the 1/5th. Can your wife not claim her 1/5th?
