looks like it's going to be a great tournament with a record 52 entries. Last year's event had a fantastic finish with several in contention right up until the very end.

Hoping this years final day will be just as entertaining 😉

Now 53 players, as Gavin Sheahan is playing in this round, in place of Alice O'Gorman. That makes it an all-time record attendance. The number of players making their debut is 20, which surprisingly only ties the record.

Interesting event. In round 2, Alice O'Gorman had a study-like (or maybe engine-like) win against James Crowley, on move 19. I can hardly follow why it's a win even seeing the engine recommend it.

Entertaining finish in round 2 between Peter Cafolla and Oissine Murphy. Peter was dead lost, but Oissine made a really spectacular blunder and had to resign essentially immediately.

what happened to the online coverage yesterday? Did Peter trip over the I.T. connection again? 😊

There was online coverage on livechess, though on a different link, which was given in the Notes on the event page.
