Looking for a FTA box that works over Internet

Looking to replace my older Sky box which doesn't have HD ( so have lost a lot of channels) & also the trees on the house next door have got so high they are interfering with my satellite signal with something like a box that works over the internet & gives the FTA channels. Tested a Firestick but found it cumbersome. I know someone that has a Google model g454v which seems to be a Chromecast box but not sure how it works or if its any good.

    Thanks,

    T.

Who's your internet provider? If it's either eir or Vodafone they usually do deals on there respective boxes if your a customer out of contract. Not free I know but I know someone who got it tv with eir for 5 euros a month on top of her broadband for 12 months

Anything is going to have a subscription fee - the only way to actually get those channels free is off satellite.
