How much protein do I need?

    I'm a 30 year old male.
    5'11 in height and 91.5kg (201lbs)
I'm a little on the heavier side and am aiming to gain some lean muscle while shedding some bodyfat.

I find myself struggling to hit my protein goal daily.

I had been aiming for 2g of protein per kg of bodyweight which is 183g of protein.

However, I had found this a bit of a struggle to hit on the lower calories coupled with the fact that I've been trying to cut down on red meat and dairy for health reasons. (Not cut out but cut down as I was consuming too much)

Ive heard people saying that 1.6g - 1.8g of protein per kg of bodyweight is enough for people training and trying to build muscle. This would make it much more manageable on a daily basis. I've also seen people suggest 0.8g of protein per lbs of bodyweight which is a similar amount.
I plan to start pushing myself in the gym so want to make sure I'm eating enough protein.

    What are people's opinions?
    Thanks
