    Hi All,

Has anyone here interviewed for an ICT role in the public service? If so, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience or offer any tips.

According to Met Éireann, the interview format is a semi-structured, competency-based interview lasting about 50 minutes. The competencies they focus on are:

    Analysis/Problem Solving

    Delivery of Results

    Interpersonal and Communication Skills

    Specialist Knowledge, Expertise, and Self-Development

Drive and Commitment to Public Service Values

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Check out this link.

In a nutshell in the interview you'll be expected to show examples of work that you have completed in the past that tick all the boxes fro each competency.

For example on the Specialist Knowledge, Expertise and Self Development competency and it was a senior manager role e.g. AP you would be expected to show an example or examples of work where you can show:

Has a clear understanding of the roles objectives and targets of self and the team and how they fit into thework of the unit and Department/ Organisation

Has a breadth and depth of knowledge of Department and Governmental issues and is sensitive to widerpolitical and organisational priorities

Is considered an expert by stakeholders in own field/ area

Is focused on self development, seeking feedback and opportunities for growth to help carry out the specific requirements of the role
