Taxi in Limerick

Hi,

What's the best/cheapest way to order a taxi from Castletroy bus stop?

Will need Prius+ or similar car as we have 3 suitcases and 3 adults.

Last time I used free now app and they charged €4.99 as "technology fee".

All taxis in Ireland are real taxis. Uber is only an app here same as Freenow. No they don't charge a technology fee and I find them to be the same price as going to a rank.

Uber or the likes 061 313131 are your only options outside of Freenow.

If you haven't arrived yet, try 313131 and ask for an Estate Car to fit your Luggage. They will usually sort this for you.

BTW, FreeNow charge a €1 "Technology Fee". Any more than that and I would be looking for a refund. A lot of Taxi Customers seem to have moved to the Uber App recently due to this Technology Fee ( which even the FreeNow Drivers don't agree with).

I checked receipt from FreeNow and it shows €4.99 as Technology Fee (took the taxi 3 weeks ago). I will download Uber and use that instead tomorrow.

Just to clarify. Freenow automatically charge a €1 Tech Fee. They will charge more if you order a specific type of Car. 5 seats (or more) is €3.99 , and a Premium Vehicle (no idea what their criteria is for this) is indeed €4.99.

These figures would be visible at the time of Booking.

I did book XL car with FreeNow at a particular time in advance.

Today I used Uber and Bill was considerably lower for the same journey.

Freenow was just a poor attempt at trying to convince us we didn't need Uber to come to Ireland.

I tried using it a few times but stopped because you can't rate a driver until after he picks you up. That's no good when guys were accepting me and then cancelling as they got fares going down Sarsfield St.
