Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I agree with you about the causes of the Great Financial Crisis.

I do not like how FG have managed the housing crisis over the last decade.

I am no big fan of FF or FG.

But I find myself ending up giving them votes.

Why? The lack of an alternative.

    PBP = communists

SocDems / Labour = not a hope, these are not conventional left-wing pro-worker parties, they are "champagne socialists", more focussed on open borders and identity politics

(a good example of how bonkers they are: on live TV, when Sinead Gibney of the SocDems was asked about illegal immigrants destroying their travel documents, her reply was "they are in such a rush to flee persecution, they don't have time to get their documents". She takes us for fools, we all know the illegal immigrants have the documents as they board the aircraft, this has been confirmed over and over again. The truth is that she wants illegal immigration, as for some reason, she and her ilk seem to hate Ireland and Irishness. Of course the TV presenter did not challenger her)

(a similar example of anti-Irishness is the SPHE textbook in the news this week. This would be supported by the likes of Labour and the SocDems)

The Greens = great on public transit, cycle lanes, great stuff, BUT, like peeling a watermelon, green on top, red underneath, pro open borders, pro bonkers "woke" DEI identity politics

SF = at least they have a plan on housing that actually tries to reduce costs and prices, all FF and FG do is have schemes that add to demand and prices

But SF are, like Lab/SD/GP also for open border and bonkers "woke" identity politics

FF/FG = not doing enough to stop bogus AS, not doing enough to reduce rents and house prices

Aontú = very small, but I could end up voting for them

Still seems to be held in high regard by people around during that era but his populist policies destroyed the tax base which continues to have dire consequences for public services.

    🙈🙉🙊

If Seoige gets in the chances are she will be re elected at every election until she decides to call it a day much the same as O Cuiv.

I'm the other side of the county but she does seem to be popular over in GW.

I can't see her having anywhere near the political ability to do the work to stay in politics that O Cuiv has had over the years. Indeed she could end up like a couple other celeb politicians who weren't able to handle the heat and left.

Truth is.....I would say the diamond business is doing shite.

RTE budgets and endorsements being watched too closely.

Nothing like a fixed salary, chance to employ a family member, expenses and pension.

My understanding is that she is with Carol & Associated…….

A full TD pension of 55k approx requires 20 years service.

One term in the Oireachtas means 13-14k pension.

As much as a TD is paid well, it's an awful job, rotten hours and you are under the spotlight like nothing else. Add in the fact she's a woman which will only make the abuse worse.

There isn't a salary they could pay me that would make me want to do the job...

personally I wouldn’t vote for her to be the town dog pound warden but apparently she has support in her constituency.

There’s talk of her younger sister declaring also.

Remember at the press conference when he took a sip of water and smugly said ppl who wouldn’t pay the water tax would have their supply turned down to a trickle??

I take your point but I don't think that business is as busy as she portrays it to be.

She runs to Virgin every time they need someone to fill in on one of their cookie-cutter magazine shows and is always mooching around for corporate hosting MC work.

Her husband sells barbecues and pizza ovens.

As far as I know she's currently renting but that's probably down to her credit rating being shot to pieces since her house in Wicklow was repossessed despite being rented out to John Delaney/FAI of all people.
