Applying for a mortgage approval when changing jobs

So I'm thinking of changing jobs and it caught me off guard in the way this could effect me buying a house. The new job offers slightly better pay but I'd have to wait the 6 months probation period. The guy in the bank said I could apply for approval after about 2-3 months, as it takes quite a while for the process of buying a house to occur anyway.

How much of a delay could taking on a new job cause? I tick every other box though.

The lender will want to see that you are a permanent employee.

I applied directly with BOI and dealt with their own mortgage advisor.

Like other replies, if you change jobs, the bank wants you to finish a six-month probation period, so expect at least six months for the new loan.

The bank will ask for your payslip before releasing the funding, so if you change jobs after the loan is approved, they will know.
