Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rent a room relief + separate Air BnB in same house?

    Hi Folks,

    I’m a home owner renting out one room long term and intend to claim rent a room relief on it.

    I am also interested in renting out a separate room in the property on a short term basis, and would submit this for taxation as usual.

    Am I allowed to claim rent a room relief for the long term room rental, while also occasionly renting out the smaller room on air BnB and ensuring it is taxed accordingly?


    Or does having any short term rental income whatsoever disqualify me from claiming rent a room relief on the other room?
