Seagate 2TB Expansion card worth it

My son has gone through two external drives in as many years, one due to dropping it, the other just failed. I'm wondering if its a better option to splash €280 on a 2TB Seagate expansion card. Am I right in thinking the Xbox sees it as an extension of its internal drive so all games are compatible with it ?

the expansion is seen as an Expansion card to the xbox series of consoles, It runs all games on it. I have the 1tb expansion. its grand. it really does depend on what games they play. Like you can get another HD and just move things back on forth
