Car Air Con Servicing

Hi

Does anyone know anyone or recommend anyone that does Air Con servicing for cars? Including disinfection.

Does it need to be local? Several recommended Auto Aircon in the motors section recently, but it's in Dublin.

probably depends what needs to be done, re-gassing looks handy, but after that….

Yeah, if you need to regas, there’s a leak somewhere that needs to be fixed.

I dont think theres a leak but its an 8 year old car and ive never had air con service, I dont like using it as i seem to get allergies as soon as it turns on, I always get it serviced in main dealer including pollen filters, any advice welcome, i do think the filters are due a change and maybe some kind of disinfection? I will take a look in halfords.

If you need to get it gassed, there is a leak. It's a closed system. It's not something that gets used up by using the system. In fact, the leak is almost certainly because it wasn't used enough. Using it helps lubricate the system and not using it makes seals dry out and leak.

I had a car for 13 years. It was as good on the last day as the first, never having to get work done on the system.

be a little wary of what some main dealers say whats actually been done during services, as pollen filters have been regularly signed off on being changed, but actually havent been, have a chat to ex main dealer mechanics, some might confirm this

Yeah look a pollen filter is actually a very quick swap out on a car so it is something i can do, but in the last few months the air con as soon as i turn it on it feels like my lungs my eyes just dont like it, I am aware the last few months have been summer and pollen etc but its never been so bad for me, again the system itself seems to run fine, the problem is what comes out im having a problem with, I know Air Con systems for say a room or a bar say that has a coil that needs to ne cleaned and disinfected.
