The Irish Middle Class and their 'Slava Ukraini' Larping

Why do so many Irish middle class types have this almost CosPlay connection to the horrors of the Ukraine-Russia War as if putting up flags and hating Russians will somehow result in a Russian defeat? There is an almost psychopathic dissociation from the horrors unfolding and respectable middle class types are sharing videos of Russian troops begging a drone for mercy before they are blown to bit followed by laughing emojis. WHTF? There is now the giddy infantile hysteria about the recent events masking the reality that Ukraine are desperate because they're losing badly. 80% of their energy grid lies in smouldering ruins and countries are beginning to cut off "aid". Their incursion into Kursk is also a disaster, a trap they have made for themselves with a strategic objective that has failed (to capture the nuclear power station). Every day they lose 2,000 troops - young men press ganged into war by senile old men and their media sycophants in Washington and London. If nothing changes, Ukrainian citizens will be freezing and starving to death this winter. Yet putting up a flag is considered somehow meaningful by the Irish middle class.

May want to fact check a lot of your claims there. Many of them are incorrect and exaggerated.

Why are you bothered so much by a few flags and gestures of support? Bizarrely your post critiques Ukranian tactics more than the behaviour of Irish people, so I'm not sure what's actually bothering you.

Are you going to create a similar thread for Palestine? I've seen plenty of their flags around too and many "thoughts and prayers" SM posts.

    Mod - Closed.

More suited to CA where I am sure the Russia/ Ukraine topic is already being discussed. Please join the discussions there.

    Thanks
