just wondering if anyone has used their own pps to commercially tax a van lately or is it best to get someone with a vat number to give u a letter to say you need it for work purposes. Would your own pps work on the goods declaration to get commercial tax or what way does it work. Any help appreciated

They generally want to see evidence of a valid business or herd number or forestry license. A PPS number just won't cut it.

What you need to do is look up your local authority website.

Go to the Motor Tax section. There will be a list of the documentation they require to tax a van commercially.

It's important to check your own local authority because the requirements can vary from one la to another.

If you can produce these documents at the Motor Tax office it will all go smoothly.

This is only for your first time taxing the van.

    Renewals can be done online.
