Broadband Signal

    Hi all,

We recently built an extension in our home (3-bed semi D) and since we moved back in we have noticed that our Virgin Media broadband wi-fi coverage is not as strong in some rooms or non-existence completely in some. The broadband router needs to be placed at the very front corner of a room at the front of the house so some of the rooms at the opposite end of the house on the ground floor and 1st floor have poor wi-fi signal.

We use the Wi-fi for work from home requirements for 2-3 days a week, tv, mobile phone and kids tablets. We would not be using more than 1.5 GB per month so not too much and more just general browsing.

I have done some online research and see there are various solutions for this such and its a bit of a minefield to be honest e.g. a Wi-Fi mesh, Wi-fi extenders, Wi-fi boosters etc.

Any suggestions on what the best and most cost effective solution is and if so are there any specific brand of products that people recommend?

    Thanks,

    D
