    I recently started work as in engineer with a company based in tipperary. I left a very good position for the promise of bigger projects in another country.

    From day one, something seemed off, all the staff (approx 20) were miserable. The owner would frequently tell people that he didn't like how they were doing things and yet offer no advice or guidance. I've not been here long but he's made a umber of racist comments to other employees too.

    In day 2 I found out they had not got a project abroad and I was pulled I to business development. They ploughed in like nothing had happened.

    When I asked them about it they apologised and said the company was going through a transition and I ended up pitching business ideas. Since I've started 3 people have left (they had only been there 1 - 3 months)

    It's a absolute mad house.

    We are told to assemble at 8am every morning for a chat. (there is no agenda for this chat, it is just opened up to the floor, everyone stands there shuffling their feet waiting for it to end. We're told it's compulsory.

    On Fridays we must start at 7am. But I was told, you finish at 2…and there is no lunch but we get free pastries at 10....the whole thing is so bizzare.

    A family runs the business and no1 stands up to the owner (their father).

    The money is slightly above average and they want to renegotiate my contract, I suspect I'll be offered more but I don't think I can stay here and keep my sanity.

    There's absolutely no direction.
