Earbuds/Earphones Recommendations

Just wondering has anyone any recommendations for earbuds/earphones that dont cost the earth for cycling. Ive lost the right unit of my Jaybird Vista 2 which I've liked and they seem to either be discontinued or very hard to get! I got them 2 years ago on amazon for £34! Now looking at over £200! The wind cancellation was decent. I also had a set on Anker Wireless Headphones that had better sound/wind cancellation but the bluetooth version (5.0) wouldn't connect to any of my laptops!

Anyone any recommendations? Main priority for me is a good fit that stops wind disturbances when cycling!

I've used Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds for years for a medical reason. The passive mode blocks the noise of the wind from going in your ear hole and allows you to hear everything going on around, even with some radio or music on low. Noise reduction is amazing too if you're using them on a flight or something. Not cheap but their warranty is really good and they were really decent and quick about replacing a pair that developed a defect after a few months.

Cheap X15 wireless Bluetooth are surprisingly good in my opinion for general sound quality and I’d consider myself a minor audiophile .Cant comment on wind proof ability and they’re not ‘fall out’ proof either ( but one did survive a trip into a tin of white exterior paint !) Bang per buck while subjective can be shockingly variable .€35 -50 seinnheisers can sound better than €200 Bose .I never thought these cheapo wireless would be as good as Apple wired earbuds but they are ( and last longer than three months before losing an ear !)

I’ve the JBL tuneflex.. at €70 they are brilliant! Mind you…the last pair of Bluetooth earbuds I had were shite, so anything would be an improvement! But the tuneflex are excellent.. no problem recommending them.

I use these bone conduction ones. Didn't want to spend a fortune on the big name ones untill I was sure but have to say these work really well. I like them as I can hear all traffic, train announcements etc. Only caveat is that if its windy there seems to be turbulance around them that makes the wind louder in your ears if that makes sense.

Battery life is good and they seem durable after 6 months of abuse. Also use them in the car as the bluetooth phone system is gone stupid. I'd buy another pair and I'd be tempted by the tech to see what the originals are like but don't know if they are multiples better as the price difference would suggest.

I have a set of these for cheap and cheerful use where I don't want to use my Sony ones. They get great reviews and are frequently on sale for about €20. Not great for cycling because they wouldn't necessarily stay in your ears but the same brand do a good few types with the over ear loop which I find better on the bike. I had a set of Powerbeats Pro like this with the loop but battery gave up on one so for the price not good.

How do yiz manage to keep earbuds in the ear when cycling? I'd only consider over-the-ear style, with bone conducting to make sure traffic noise is still detectable.

The Jaybirds i have (well down to just the left ear now!) have "wings" that help them stay put. they work really well. Never got close to losing one. I lost this one as i took out of my ear and thought i was placing into jersey pocket coming to the end of a ride. Ideally im trying to find something similar <€50

I rarely use earphones while cycling but my Jabras have "hear through" which you can switch on and off at the press of a button that actually clarifies ambient noise as I can't hear the wind.

What Jabras do you have, was actually just looking at the Jabra 10. How is the "seal" in your ear and do they effectily block out loud wind noise?

Jabra Elite something or other, I will check when I get home. They are good at blocking out sound when you select it, and good for letting it through. This said, I dislike in ear ones and these are that. I have never found in ear buds comfortable so I am not the best person to review, these are the least uncomfortable I can recall but I have never had ones that don't. The only time I really have them is for phone calls coming through if I am still on the clock.
