Some of that may be going on behind the scenes, but the watch party itself is just a corporate type event in Croke Park hospitality area. It's probably more of a box ticking exercise to show the NFL look there is a community of Steelers fans in Ireland.

The Lions are putting on a show tonight, entertainment central. Trick plays, a fantastic run by Montgomery. I recommend watching the highlights.

It's 28-14 Lions in the middle of the third quarter.

One game has St. Brown throwing a TD to Goff and the other is Rudolph and Huntley struggling to punch their way out of a paper bag, quite the contrast.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,053 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

The scary part is Rudolph looked better than Levis. 😁

The Lions game was the most entertaining game I've seen so far this year. Not because it was high scoring, the inventiveness was what made it.

It seems like a few teams have been practicing laterals past the line of scrimmage and not just as a case of we let Kelce do what he wants.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,351 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

Is it just me or did both Rudolph and Huntley not look awful?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,053 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

30-30, going to overtime. Both teams made mistakes in the second half. It was 24-17 at halftime.

Funny one, Koo missed from 46 in.yje first half, just left of the upright but there was an offside against Tampa Bay so he got a 41 yard attempt and out it on almost exactly the same spot left of the upright. At the end of the game he 52 harder to bring it to overtime.

Falcons get the win. Cousins ends up with 509 yards and 4 tds.

A fantastic TNF game, lots of fun throughout. And made even better for me with Evans, London, and Mooney across my two fantasy teams.

ITV are embarrassing. No time or down and distance on the screen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,394 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Are ITV using their own commentary on the game ?

Patriots and Dolphins trying their best to see who's more dysfunctional

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,091 ✭✭✭Christy42

Big guy int and a planned lateral help the Monday night game. Mahomes played well but his stats won't show it getting no TDs and an int (that was not his fault).

Kansas will be tough to stop and I am not sure who is second best in the league right now.

You gotta put the Vikings no.2 I think. They've beaten the 49ers, Texans and Packers. They have the Lions next Sunday.

A lot of people talking about the Commanders but they've beaten nobody of note to this point. They play the Ravens next.

For me the top five in the league right now are Chiefs, Vikings, Lions, Texans and Ravens.

    Robert Saleh fired…

Yeah, another really good coach fired by the Jets. When is everybody going to realise it's not the coaches but the owners that are the issue?

A lot of people mightn't know that the Johnsons bought the Jets in January 2000 and Bill Belichick left immediately. Kinda signalled what was likely to happen.

Hopefully Kyle Shanahan can reach out to him and sort out the 9ers defence.

Looks harsh, they're 2-3, lost to the 49ers, who are really good, lost to the Broncos by a point, and had a chance to beat the Vikings in London at the end. They have an above-average defense.

I mean, if you kept him on at the end of last season, it makes sense to give him more than 5 games of this season.

You'd wonder about the dynamics though, with Rogers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,053 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Well the thing is that Rodgers isn't good enough anymore which is sad to see.

Waas he involved in going after Rodgers, I'd expect Woody Johnson played a big part in that just like the Brett Favre signing about 15 years ago.

Saleh made a bad call drafting Zach Wilson. As it turned out it didn't matter which QB he signed in that draft because none of them have worked out but still he has to accept criticism for that. He's drafted pretty well though with sauce and Garrett Wilson being the pick of them.

He certainly wasn't fired for being involved in going after Rodgers, I'd bet good money Rodgers had a hand in pushing him out.

Nothing about Josh Allan head injury other night. No surprises.

Do we put any credence on Saleh prominently wearing the Lebanese flag on his top ultimately getting him the sack, with Israel currently on the offensive there? Supposedly he's worn it previously but I wouldn't be surprised if he was warned about it prior to Sunday, and wore it anyway. His manner of leaving (escorted from the building immediately) would suggest its possible.

The owner is an ex US ambassador to the UK and has some ties to Israel. Possibly all bollocks, especially as he was likely on the block anyway, but you can really see the difference in the landscape and attitude to the war over there. If it was here you'd 100% have journalists at least theorizing about it. Over there none of them will go anywhere near even mentioning it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,091 ✭✭✭Christy42

Who knows. There are a lot theories behind the firing. There is a lot going on behind the scenes anyway.

Hackett has Rodgers support but if people are getting fired because of the offense it is hard to see how he can stay in his role much longer. There were reports they wanted to demote him during the summer, now it seems they were after Arthur Smith who widely picked Pittsburgh.

Mess of an owner and franchise.

Great start for the 49ers. After a quiet first quarter, where a SF field goal was the only score, Purdy gets it to Deebo who takes it 76 yards to the house. Then on the kickoff Shenault fumbles and the niners get it at the Seahawks 29.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,053 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Shenault makes up for his fumble with a 97 yard kickoff return, 23-10 San Fran.

Good result in what realistically was a must win game with the upcoming games for the 49ers.

I struggle to think it had any bearing given he has done it in the past.

I find it a lot easier to believe it is down to machinations by Rodgers anyway but doubt there will be any certainty on it for some time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,931 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

Yeah I'd love to hear Saleh's side of it, but I'm guessing he won't say anything, he'll be focused on getting a DC position somewhere as soon as possible and he certainly won't be engaging in recriminations in the meantime.

But the way he was dealt with was a scandal, and it's a good indication of why the Jets will always be a joke organization. Marched out by security without even having a chance to speak to his players. No class. Any top HC candidate would be well advised to stay away and wait for a different opportunity to come up.

Is Tom Brady one of the most highly anticipated and most underwhelming colour commentator we’ve heard?

“That’s going to make coach Campbell haaapy”

    Zero insightful analysis.
I really want to like Tom but he’s not making it easy!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,876 ✭✭✭CMcsporty

    “Unreal….

Come on..if your not having fun watching that..you don’t have a heartbeat”

I think it’s his nasally California voice that’s putting me off. The delivery just comes across cringe.

Possibly a broken leg for Aidan Hutchinson. Noooo!!!! 😭

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,053 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I hope not and it happened before he hit the ground, he was grimacing while still holding Prescott. It could be an ACL but I hope it's not serious.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,053 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I've a feeling Jerry Jones will pull the trigger. This is the Cowboys worst home defeat since 1988. I think he'll go after Belichick but I'm not sure Bill would be interested in such a dysfunctional group.

Also I couldn't believe the money Prescott got. He doesn't deserve anything like that. Just looking at Cooper Rush finishing out the game and there's not much between them imo.

I really enjoyed the Lions running up the score in Dallas, they might've wasted a trick play or two but it was a lot of fun. Horrible leg break for Hutchinson and he's been so great to watch this season.

The night game was a defensive game, excellent viewing. The Bengals got on top very late and held on well right at the end.

Ridiculous hail mary from Aaron Rodgers at the end of the half to make it 20-17 Bills at halftime. Great catch by Lazard.

Two doinks in typical Jets fashion 😂

Couldn't say I'm sad to see that result, wouldn't wish the jets well in any game after the way they handled themselves last week. No class.

One touchdown in the first half. Broncos lead 16-3. I know the Saints have injuries but I thought they'd have success with Surtain out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,053 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

A mauling, 33-10 win fir the Broncos with the Saints TD coming in garbage time. Javonte Williams had a great night, looks like he's coming back to the form of his rookie season.

Can't be too many teams to have started the campaign with two straight wins hitting the 40 point mark in both only to be completely abject thereafter.
