Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi all, looking for martial arts/self defence lessons for my teenage daughter, am based just south of Drogheda. Just curious if anyone can point me in the right direction as I don't use social media.

    TIA.

If it were me, I'd take a look at

    1. SBG Drogheda

    Home - SBG Drogheda

This is a 'mixed martial arts' facility, but they have a kids and teenagers programme.

I haven't trained here, but SBG affiliation is still a mark of credibility / some standard, IMO.

    2. JSBJJ Drogheda

They seem to only have facebook/instagram, which might be a challenge if you aren't on social media, but I know the head coach, Damien Dowling, and would definitley trust him as a coach for kids/teenagers.

This is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym, so no striking, just grappling.

The main thing you want is an environment your daughter is happy to be in, so she wants to train and enjoys going. Self defence benefits will follow if she sticks at it.

I'd make a few calls, go to a few trial classes and see what she thinks.

Had no idea there was a SBG in Drogheda, I'll look into both of those. Thanks for the suggestions.
