Honestly, you shouldn't be taking anything MRC outputs seriously, it's daily mail level "facts" with very little actual facts and really just designed to make conservatives angry at the world.

They have multiple stories on the pet eating claims with 0 actual facts to back up what trump and vance said but lots of anger about the media pointing out how baseless and stupid it was.

Both statements have been deliberately misrepresented. Nowhere does he say there will be violence if he doesnt get re-elected. Nowhere does he say neo nazis are fine people. Its been debunked but people seem to keep repeating it and saying "he is lying". No, you are repeating a lie.

Agreed that he should have handled the whole debate differently. Ben Shapiro made a great point that he literally should have just replied to every answer she gave as "why havent you done it. You are in office right now. Why havent you done it?"

He needs to stay away from all the baiting and name calling. The pet eating stuff makes great headlines but it is irrelevant and takes away from the issues people actually care about. Illegal immigration is an issue. Kamala was in charge of figuring it out and she didnt do it. Instead now she wants to build a wall……………. In 8 years she will start talking about immigrants eating pets.

I dunno, his interactions since the debate have been fine, putin name calling aside, I said it was a bridge too far for Joe after the debate but total cognitive decline is really over-egging it. He doesn't look good beside someone like trump who babbles incoherently but appears to be active, so the game was up.

trumps issue is that everything levelled at biden (being slow, senile, unable to handle stairs) now applies to him without any counter.

Project 2025 was written by people who work in politics who want to keep working in politics. They worked for him because they work in politics. When he is no longer here they will still want to work in politics.

Project 2025 is a paper. A very long boring paper that most who talk about it havent read a single work in it. It was commissioned by some org associated with the reps. The do fund raising and I cant think if their name right now. Could google it but not going to as it doenst matter. The idea was that the rep party needed to start planning for the future. It was lacking direction and there was (still is) huge division in the party.

It was a list of suggestions on what the government should do once they are elected. Some of it contains stuff that both dems and reps would actually do anyway. Some of it contains stuff that moreso reps would do. Some of it contains stuff that Trump would do. Then most of it is ideas on what things could be implemented. Some of them are probably ok ideas. Such as reducing the amount of red tape on new businesses etc. Other things would be extreme stuff like getting rid of government oversight on schools. But by in large this is just a book of ideas. Thats all. It was not commissioned by Trump. I believe him when he said he didnt read it and doesnt want to. It is over 900 pages. Does anyone think Trump listens to anyone (not saying its a good thing). Why would he read a 900 page book on someone elses ideas?

Way more than several people involved, worked for Trump. But as I said, these are career people who would be working for Haley if it was her in charge. They would be working for whoever is in charge because its not loyalty and closeness to Trump. It is their jobs.

It's interesting to watch the acceleration of the "centrist poster evolution" in these threads lately.

A few months ago we'd get a new "centrist" poster who would opine about how "both sides were bad" and how balance was needed and so on.

They would usually take a few weeks and a couple of dozen posts to devolve into full on MAGA Trumpers.

Now though , the "Centrists" are barely lasting the day before their MAGA alter ego takes over.

With only 6/7 weeks left to the Election , I guess they don't have time to bed down the centrist street cred before the shift to full throated MAGA.

Saves us time I guess , but unsure why they still bother with the flaccid initial attempts at "common sense" neutrality anymore.
