Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Solheim Cup 2024

The Solheim Cup is being played in consecutive years as it will return to even years only from 2024. The trophy has been lifted by Europe three times in a row with last year's one being a 14-14 draw. It's on US soil this year at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia.

Looking forward to watching this weekend. On paper US are favourites and have the highest ranked players. I listened to a No Laying Up podcast and none of them fancied Nelly or other top players to do well. Lots of interesting dynamics with Boutier, Nelly, Charlie, Lexi etc. Will Leona continue her great Solheim form? - she has 7.5 out of 10 points in 2 Cups.

Maguire sitting out the foursomes, I assume she must have played very poorly in practice considering she's never missed a session before

Tough day one for Europe. Lost both the Foursomes and Fourballs 3-1 to lie 6-2 down with some heavy defeats too. Leona paired with Georgia Hall in the fourballs well beaten by Nelly Korda and Megan Khang.

The Americans seemed to get a lot of their putts to drop. Hopefully Europe will get a bit back today.

Europe's only winning pair yesterday morning has been split up for the foursomes today. Seems a bizarre decision that'll get absolutely slated should it backfire.

Maguire left out of the foursomes again but it's not surprising considering how poor she was yesterday afternoon.

Europe surely need to win at least one session today or it's all over you'd think.

Maguire sitting out again. Threw away points this morning

Well, Leona owes Europe nothing in terms of Solheim Cup contribution. If in one of her automatic qualifications she doesn't quite have consistent enough form, then maybe best to have a more limited involvement. Fingers crossed she can find something tomorrow and take part in a mega-comeback.

Fairly quick hero to zero ( heroine to zeroine ? ) for LM Solheimwise. But more important she gets it together Tourwise after a forgettable season of slump.

This is a tight as hell finish, could swing either way!

delighted to see her win her singles match. regardless of form, she has a great match play record and I think she should have got more of a look in in the foursomes and fourballs

Good finish ok. USA just edging it.

Wonder why Leona got so few matches and is out second last today? 🤔

She was very poor on Friday. Maybe she was ill or just out of form, she's had a poor year

Well Leona has said she wasn't given much reason for not being played. She thinks cos she's not a long hitter, but not a good luck for Peterson to leave her out of so many session. Not like Hall who was a pick did much better as one example.

"I've never lived my life regretting any decisions.

sometimes you get it right, sometimes you get outplayed"

What an arrogant statement from Petterson. Sometimes SHE gets it right, sometimes THE PLAYERS get outplayed.

Next Man City manager: You lot may all be internationals and have won all the domestic honours there are to win under Pep. But as far as I'm concerned, the first thing you can do for me is to chuck all your medals and all your caps and all your pots and all your pans into the biggest **** dustbin you can find, because you've never won any of them fairly. You've done it all by bloody cheating.

Id doubt we'd hear Cattriona Matthew saying this

Anyway, I'd say Suzanne Petterson has had her go now at this stage and overall a good stint

The key point about Leons's win is that she beat a higher ranked player-no.19 in OWGR…so a small crumb of comfort.

On all known evidence Maguire severely underperformed this season . Surely next year's got to be better.

She beat someone who lost every match but you can only beat what’s in front of you. She did a big Phil impression though. Surprised she did say what she said
