No, not legal here in Ireland. Everything connected the grid requires an NC6.

Thanks .. so if I have a solar set up already with an NC6 submitted and I change a faulty solar panel with another panel with slightly more watts - I should really resubmit the NC6 ?

NC6 is more inverter based. swapping out a panel wont effect it.

WTF! That's beyond ridiculous. My first solis developed a comms issue after a couple of months. I certainly hope its not common for them to fail.

Someone asked esb, so this is second hand, and no idea where the post is, but as long as its the not over the output as the original equipment its fine and you dont need another nc6.

But 6 inverters over the last 12 months, thats mad.

Yep crazy, I had 6 Solis fail on me, eventually changed to hypontech, no issues since .. most claim (including my installer) that solis rarely give trouble but ther you have it !

Seriously, if it was one or even two I'd put it down to bad hardware, but 6 would indicate to me that there's something in your operating environment that's damaging them

Hopefully the Hypontech is fine but it's worth chasing up with the installer to see if they returned the hardware to be root caused. There might be something in there that would tell you what was killing them, high temperature or something like that
